about

In this release Organized Disorder presents Meltz-Collazo's Debut with a prelude to the upcoming album on Dec 3rd.

Somos Muchos Más alludes to the ubiquitous chant used during the Ricky Renuncia protests that occurred in Puerto Rico during the summer of 2019, “Somos más, y no tenemos miedo” (We are more and we are not afraid). It was a time where people in the island, regardless of class or political views, stood together to take down the corrupt and malicious governor at the time. Since I was physically in the city at the time, many of the song’s sounds and samples were produced from multiple screen recordings of livestreams, FaceTime calls with people protesting, and other 2nd hand sources. The song’s foundation incorporates a Bomba & Plena rhythm, which is a traditional genre of Afro-Caribbean origin often performed as an act of protest, while mixing with contemporary instrumentation. As a result, this song encompasses the spirit and tone of a united community.

For the remix label head Yurk takes elements from the original and transforms them into a house centric track with always evolving melodies and exciting change ups.
